Doollow town is in the southern Gedo region of Somalia. It is the seat of one of the Gedo region’s seven districts. In terms of land size, it is one of the smallest districts in Jubaland. The district receives more than three flights a day including humanitarian flights yet has one of the poorest airstrips in south-central Somalia. The current airstrip came into being through a community initiative in an effort to deliver quick services for the citizens who live in Gedo and the neighboring regions of Ethiopia and Kenya. The airport facilitates immediate referrals for the complicated medical cases, humanitarian air services for the large IDPS in Dollow. Income from the airport is used to provide other social services like school fees, provision of water tracking for the rural communities during the drought and among others. The community continuously improves the standards of the airport services including new construction of the run way. Currently they are contributing for the construction of the terminal halls for the departures and arrivals to protect them from the hot sun in Dollow. We passionately approach to support us in building the departure and arrival terminal halls for the airport. We make sure your donation goes to the right account by regularly updating you.
